Education that empowers every young person
The National Society for Education, Mentoring and Media exists to make quality education accessible to every young person, regardless of background or circumstance. Our mission and vision shape everything we do.

Our purpose
Mission and Vision
Two commitments guide every decision we make: our mission to support students holistically today, and our vision for the world we are working to build together.
Our mission
Our Mission
We believe every young person deserves access to education that empowers them, in the classroom and beyond. Our mission is to support students holistically, helping them grow, thrive, and realise their full potential as confident, capable contributors to a better future.
Our vision
Our Vision
We see a future built by the power and potential of students. When they have access to knowledge, they become architects of tomorrow instead of just bystanders. That is the world we are working towards: one where every student can shape a better future for everyone.

Looking ahead
This Year’s Goals
Each year we set clear, measurable goals that move us closer to our mission. Here is what we are focused on in 2024/25.
Goal for 2024/25
Building a Dedicated Mentor Network
We aim to empower more young people across the United Kingdom by training a dedicated mentor network. These mentors will lead information, advice and guidance workshops in communities throughout 2024/25, fostering a love for science, technology, and innovation in the next generation.
Our target
500+ Young People
Young people we aim to empower this year through our expanded mentor network and information, advice and guidance workshops across communities in England and Wales.
