NSEMM uses a “magic link” login system instead of traditional passwords. This guide explains how it works and what to do if you encounter any issues.
How Magic Links Work
When you want to log in, simply enter your email address on the login page and click “Send Magic Link”. Within a few moments, you’ll receive an email containing a secure link. Click that link and you’ll be logged in automatically. There’s no password to remember or type.
This system is actually more secure than traditional passwords because the link can only be used once and expires after 15 minutes. Even if someone saw the link, they couldn’t use it after you’ve logged in.
What If the Email Doesn’t Arrive?
First, check your spam or junk folder, as the email sometimes gets filtered there. If you find it in spam, mark it as “not spam” so future emails arrive in your inbox. Make sure you entered your email address correctly, as a small typo will send the link to the wrong address.
If you’ve waited a few minutes and still haven’t received anything, you can request another magic link. Sometimes there’s a slight delay, particularly if email servers are busy.
For Staff and Tutors
If you have an @nsemm.org.uk email address, you can skip the magic link entirely. Use the “Sign in with Microsoft” option instead, which connects to your NSEMM account directly. This is faster and always works.
Still Having Trouble?
If you’ve tried the steps above and still can’t log in, please create a support ticket and we’ll help you get access to your account. Make sure to use a personal email address you can access when contacting us, so we can send you updates.
